New Portal for a New Year
August 17, 2021 – Over the summer, Regina Public Schools has been adding the finishing touches to a new, comprehensive online student information portal called Edsby. Previously, students, parents and staff used PowerSchool. Access to PowerSchool was terminated at the end of this past school year, and that portal is no longer available.
Edsby is a comprehensive education application that will include more user-friendly features than were previously found in PowerSchool. Specifically, Edsby will allow students, parents and guardians easy, secure access to attendance records, assignments, schedules, course materials, grades, classes, school news and calendars.
Edsby is part of a new network that is being implemented by our school division. Currently, the school division is working with the Ministry of Education to complete system configuration, ensure the privacy and security of data, and complete staff training.
The estimated launch date for student and parent/guardian access to Edsby corresponds with the first day of school, which is September 1, 2021.
When more details become available, they will be available at https://www.reginapublicschools.ca/edsbyparentinfo
NO PARKING IN SCHOOL PARKING LOTS
For the safety of all of our students, please do not park or drop off students in the parking lot, even if school is out. We want to teach our children the proper place to walk around the school. By dropping them in the parking lot we are not being good role models for our children. It is NOT safe, please find alternate places to park.
COVID Case Identified, School Remains Open
May 25, 2021 – The Saskatchewan Health Authority informed us that there was one case of COVID-19 at Gladys McDonald School.
Close contacts have been called and remote learning will begin for affected students.
The school remains open. Letters will be sent to all school families.
If there are any additional close contacts identified at the school, they will be contacted directly by Public Health. A close contact is someone who has been within two metres (six feet) of someone for a cumulative 15 minutes.
If any staff, student or school family members show any symptoms, they should please stay home and contact Healthline 811. Symptoms are described here.
