SCC Annual General Membership Meeting

The purpose of the SCC is to support student learning and well-being within the school.  The Council provides support and communication between staff, students, parents, the community and the School Board.

The Gladys McDonald School Community Council is comprised of parent volunteers.  Our meetings last about an hour and we meet several times throughout the school year.  At the meetings, the principal gives us updates about what is happening in the school and we get to hear from the teacher representative about classroom needs. 

The Annual General Meeting will be held on June 14, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. and we are looking for parent volunteers to join the SCC.  There will be spots available on the executive! 

 

We invite you to come to our meeting and see if there is an area that you might want to get involved in so the school can continue to benefit.

Staff Representatives include the School Principal, Krystal McPherson, and a Teacher Representative, Brittany McDonald.

 

We do one or two fundraisers a year to support programs and services that the teachers and students need to enhance the learning environment at Gladys McDonald.

 

We fundraise for things like:

- Books

- Classroom equipment

- Classroom programs

- Library books

 

 We put on events like:

- September SCC Welcome BBQ

- Fun Lunches

- June BBQ

 

If you are interested in helping out with any of these activities, we’d love to hear from you!

GLADYS MCDONALD'S GOT TALENT!

SCC SPECIAL LUNCH - MARCH 18TH

The SCC is hosting a Mr. Sub Special Lunch on Friday, March 18th.   The order form is attached below.  ORDERS ARE DUE FRIDAY, MARCH 4TH.

Z99 RADIOTHON

It’s that time of year again, when we rally together, in support of saving babies lives.  This year, Ehrlo Early Learning Centre, will be holding their annual bake sale on March 16th & 17th during recesses and at noon.  We will be selling cookies for $0.50.  The brownies, cupcakes and popcorn will sell for $1.00. Please note that popcorn is only available on Wednesday by pre sale orders.  100% of all money raised will be taken down to the radio-a-thon on Friday March 18th.  Listen in at 10:40am to hear us on the radio!  We appreciate your support!

POP! POP! POPCORN!!!

To help our school raise money to purchase sporting equipment, we are holding popcorn sales on the following dates:

March 16th **CHANGE OF DATE** (All money will be donated to Z99's Radiothon

June 8th

Order forms will be sent home at the beginning of each month.  All popcorn must be pre-ordered and paid for in advance.  There are no late orders or refunds.

 

BATTLE OF THE BOOKS WINNERS!!!

Congratulations to our GMS Team "Cheetos in Tuxedos" (Tyler, Ethan, Frida and Zaid) for their FIRST PLACE win at Battle of the Books on Tuesday, February 9th held at M.J. Coldwell School.  Our GMS Staff is proud of all of our Battle of the Books teams and thank them for their valient effort!!!  See you next year!
