Proof of Vaccination or Test Status Required

December 10, 2021 (UPDATED) -- Regina Public Schools continues its commitment to promote the health and safety of students and employees and to provide and maintain a safe work and learning environment for all. The Government of Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Health Authority have recommended vaccinations for those who are eligible as one way to minimize COVID-19 risk to citizens.

As of November 29, 2021, proof of vaccination, or recent negative COVID-19 test, will be required for all who enter a Regina Public Schools building. This requirement does not apply to students.

This requirement is outlined in Administrative Procedure 140 – COVID-19 Vaccination. Please review details and definitions on that document if you have any questions. Read it here.

The requirement to demonstrate proof of full vaccination, or recent negative COVID-19 test will apply to parents, the public, volunteers and others who may enter a school, with some exceptions.

Below is a helpful document defining who AP 140 applies to. Also included is a linked document that details acceptable forms of proof of vaccination.

Regina Public Schools appreciates your cooperation and support of our efforts to keep everyone in our schools and facilities safe.

Remembrance Day

NOVEMBER 10, 2021 -- Remembrance Day is commemorated on November 11th each year in Canada and marks the ceasefire on the Western Front in World War I in 1918. The armistice (peace agreement) between the Allies and Germany at Compiègne, France took effect at eleven o'clock in the morning—the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.

On Remembrance Day, Canadians pause to honour the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country during times of war (First World War, Second World War and Korean War), conflict and peace.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Remembrance Day poppy in Canada.

As with many public institutions in Saskatchewan, Regina Public Schools will be closed on Remembrance Day. Friday, November 12th is a PD day so students will not return to classes until Monday, November 15th.

New Portal for a New Year

August 17, 2021 – Over the summer, Regina Public Schools has been adding the finishing touches to a new, comprehensive online student information portal called Edsby. Previously, students, parents and staff used PowerSchool. Access to PowerSchool was terminated at the end of this past school year, and that portal is no longer available.

Edsby is a comprehensive education application that will include more user-friendly features than were previously found in PowerSchool. Specifically, Edsby will allow students, parents and guardians easy, secure access to attendance records, assignments, schedules, course materials, grades, classes, school news and calendars.

Edsby is part of a new network that is being implemented by our school division. Currently, the school division is working with the Ministry of Education to complete system configuration, ensure the privacy and security of data, and complete staff training.

The estimated launch date for student and parent/guardian access to Edsby corresponds with the first day of school, which is September 1, 2021.

When more details become available, they will be available at https://www.reginapublicschools.ca/edsbyparentinfo
