SCC Annual General Membership Meeting

The purpose of the SCC is to support student learning and well-being within the school.  The Council provides support and communication between staff, students, parents, the community and the School Board.

The Gladys McDonald School Community Council is comprised of parent volunteers.  Our meetings last about an hour and we meet several times throughout the school year.  At the meetings, the principal gives us updates about what is happening in the school and we get to hear from the teacher representative about classroom needs. 

The Annual General Meeting will be held on June 14, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. and we are looking for parent volunteers to join the SCC.  There will be spots available on the executive! 


We invite you to come to our meeting and see if there is an area that you might want to get involved in so the school can continue to benefit. 


Your council members this year are:

Chair - Tanya Mitchell - Term ends June 2017

Vice Chair - Erin Crosby - Term ends June 2016

Treasurer - Wendy Munro - Term ends June 2016

Secretary - Tracey Folk  - Term ends June 2017

Staff Representatives include the School Principal, Krystal McPherson, and a Teacher Representative, Brittany McDonald.


We do one or two fundraisers a year to support programs and services that the teachers and students need to enhance the learning environment at Gladys McDonald.


We fundraise for things like:

- Books

- Classroom equipment

- Classroom programs

- Library books


 We put on events like:

- September SCC Welcome BBQ

- Fun Lunches

- June BBQ
